Spacelog:   Star Wars... from a certain point of view.

August 8th, 2002:
Yoda Pop

Some time ago, I found a link online to an enigmatic purplelightsaber.com... and I followed it. It turned out to be a highly stylized pop advertisement for Attack of the Clones, featuring downloads, the trailer, and a printable flyer to spread the word. I soon found several other domain names with the same theme and style. Since then, the official site has released some of the wallpapers available on those sites, as well as subtly linking to them.

I have heard these sites criticized by some as a cheap marketing attempt for a movie that doesn't need to be marketed, but I'm personally rather fond of them. The pop-art style gives the Star Wars universe a new spin. All in all, I think that they're a fun diversion, as well as a great source for some slightly off-kilter Star Wars wallpapers and AIM icons. Below is a list of all the addresses... that I'm aware of. If there is one of these stylish domains that I haven't listed here, by all means let me know.
